ImLive Review: The Peg Nobody Actually Pays

Every ImLive top-up tier is priced per credit on the package comparison.

Nobody pays ImLive’s advertised price. That is not a criticism of the peg, which is genuine. One credit, one dollar, no conversion, nothing to work out. Then every package on the ladder doubles what you load, so the price anybody actually pays is half the one the site quotes. Almost everything written about what this platform costs is out by a factor of two as a result. Including, until today, this page.

The score is 7.2. Old platform, dated interface, and the most interesting pricing story on the site.

The least cluttered rooms in the dataset

The rooms are the least cluttered of any platform here. No ads at all, few buttons, nothing flashing in a sidebar. After an evening on CamSoda or CAM4 that is a noticeable relief, and the main thing I liked about ImLive in 2022.

Friends & Romance is the feature nothing else has. Performers who will explicitly play a girlfriend or boyfriend role rather than run a show. Whether that appeals is entirely a matter of what you came for, but it is a real product with real people doing it, not a tag.

There is also ImLive Radio, a podcast made for blind users, the only accessibility feature I have seen from any platform in this category and which I do not think they get any credit for.

Women, men and trans, across about fifteen languages. The roster is not large, and my 2022 note put its traffic in the same bracket as CamSoda, but it has never been the reason to come here. Group shows and multi-viewer discount formats are the veteran’s touch: ImLive has been running since 2002 and some of these formats predate the entire token-site model.

Payments are the weak spot and were in 2022 too. Cards and PayPal only, the narrowest support of any live platform here apart from MyFreeCams. Billing shows as Netbilling, SegPay, CCBill or Epoch.

I have not used this site since 2022 and the above is a four-year-old impression.

The peg that doubles at every tier

ImLive prices in credits and pegs them at 1 credit = $1. That peg is genuine, and it makes the platform look like the easiest one here to budget for. No invented currency, no tier arithmetic, just dollars wearing a different name.

Then look at what a package actually contains:

Here is the doubling, rung by rung. The real price is $0.50 a credit at three of the four tiers. The peg is the list price and the bonus is standing rather than promotional. It is on every rung, and that is what makes it a price and not an offer.

That has a consequence nobody seems to have worked through. ImLive’s private shows are recorded at 2 to 5 credits a minute. Read through the peg, that is $2 to $5 a minute, and that is the figure that circulates. It is in the sources this dataset draws on, and it was in the description of this very page until today. Read through what a credit actually costs, it is $1.00 to $2.50 a minute.

I cannot currently tell you which is right, and I want to be exact about why. The source that gives the 2-to-5 figure quotes it in dollars, not credits. If it meant dollars actually charged, the number stands and the bonus is already accounted for. If it meant credits and converted them at the peg, the obvious mistake to make on a platform that advertises a peg, then the true cost is half of what everybody prints. One is a real price and the other is a rounding of a misunderstanding, and they differ by 100%.

Two smaller things fall out of the table. The $15 entry tier is the only bad rung, at $0.60 a credit against $0.50 everywhere above it, so it costs 20% more per credit than the next step up. Buy the $25 tier instead; it is the cheapest credit on the ladder and every larger tier merely matches it. And there is no volume discount above $25 at all, so there is no reason to load $100 unless you intend to spend $100.

There is also a VIP membership from $19.95 a month that discounts private rates. Every figure on this page is the non-VIP price. A VIP price would be a different number for the same show, and I do not hold it.

This platform used to be priced on this site off the bare peg, on which $50 buys 50 credits, and that understated what your money buys by half at every single tier. That was corrected on 6 August 2026 when the ladder above was recovered from my own 2022 review, screenshot and all. It is the clearest example I have of a first-hand figure sitting unused in my own archive while the dataset guessed.

Whether two to five a minute is dollars or credits

Whether $2–$5 a minute is dollars or credits. This is the important one, it is unusual in being a question about a source rather than about a platform, and worth more than any other single fact on this page.

The private rate itself, beyond the band. Performers set it. A second source gives a much wider range of $1 to $8 a minute with new performers under $1, and a stale 2013 figure sits on the same page, so no midpoint means anything and none is recorded.

The checkout. ImLive’s credit page is behind a login and nobody has opened it since I did in 2022. The peg itself rests on a secondary source rather than on ImLive’s own page.

Whether larger credit packs exist above $100 with better bonuses. One source mentions 25/50/75/100 packages but dates that explicitly to 2013, so it is not recorded here.

Free chat. ImLive is described as allowing free room entry, but it is stated in passing rather than as a checkable fact, so this site leaves it blank rather than promote a reputation to data.

The cam2cam surcharge, the spy rate, and the founding year, which comes from a company registry rather than from ImLive.

The claim I took back

Until 6 August 2026 this page opened with this, in my own words:

All you need to do is to click on the links in this article, use your best email and confirm it to get your $10 free ImLive credit right now.

There is no such credit. This file has never held a welcome offer, and the promise was made in the third paragraph of the page, before anything else.

It is retracted as wrong when written rather than as out of date, and the reason is its own condition. The credit is offered as a consequence of clicking my links, and there has never been an arrangement between this site and ImLive under which my links deliver anybody anything. Nothing about ImLive could have changed to make that true. It is a fact about a relationship that did not exist, so no version of 2022 makes the sentence true. Whether ImLive itself ran a $10 signup credit back then I do not know, and it would not matter, because the sentence was not about ImLive doing anything.

It was found on 6 August 2026, by the build check that is supposed to catch exactly this, after that check was tightened. It had been missing it three separate ways. The rule wanted “click the links” and I had written “click on the links”, the rule wanted a digit after “get your” and I had written a dollar sign, and the rule wanted the word “credit” to follow “free” directly while I had written “free ImLive credit” with the brand in the middle. One sentence slipped past three patterns on a technicality each. Fixing them turned up a fourth instance on BongaCams that had been live just as long.

Buy the smallest pack and see if the quiet suits you

Buy here if you want a clean room with nothing shouting at you. No ads is not a small thing in this category and ImLive is the best in the dataset at it.

Buy here for Friends & Romance or the group formats. Neither has a real equivalent elsewhere, and the group shows are the cheap way to use this platform.

Buy the $25 tier and not the $15 one. The entire optimisation available here, and it is worth 20%.

Wrong site if roster size matters. My 2022 note put ImLive’s traffic in the same bracket as CamSoda’s, and CamSoda is not a large platform. Twenty-four years of operating has not bought it scale.

Nothing here for you if you need to pay by anything other than a card or PayPal. No crypto, no vouchers, no regional rails.

Go elsewhere if you need a firm per-minute price before you commit, because as above, I cannot give you one to better than a factor of two.
