SecretFriends Review: Small, Quiet, Middling

Not in the minutes calculator. Every performer on SecretFriends sets their own private rate, so there is no house price to look up. I have not counted enough rooms to publish a median, so I will not put a dollars-per-minute figure on it.

What would close it: One sitting with the room grid open, writing down the rates it already displays.

What I have verified

Where it wins and where it does not

Good

  • Small and low-pressure compared with the mainstream sites

Not good

  • Very small roster, often with little live at any given time
  • Publishes nothing about its own prices; the ladder here is my own 2022 reading
  • Dated interface and limited features

Every SecretFriends top-up tier is priced per credit on the package comparison.

The first hundred dollars you spend here buys no discount at all. Five consecutive tiers price a credit at exactly one dollar, and even at the top the saving is 12%, the shallowest ladder of any platform I hold tiers for.

Small, quiet and priced worse than almost anything else here: I rate SecretFriends 6.8 for exactly those reasons rather than despite them. It is worth a page anyway, because the pricing does something none of the big platforms do and it does it badly enough to be instructive.

Look at the top of that column. There is the flat stretch the first line of this page describes, and it runs the whole width of a normal purchase.

Every other ladder in this dataset slopes: the whole reason a platform sells tiers is to make the big pack look like a saving, and on most of them it is one. Here the slope does not start until you have gone past a hundred dollars in one go, and what waits on the other side of it is a rounding error.

Practically, that means the usual advice is inverted. On Chaturbate, buying the smallest pack five times instead of one large one costs you a fifth of your balance. Here it costs you nothing, so there is no reason to put more on the account than you intend to spend tonight.

Those tiers are my own, read off the credit-purchase table in 2022. SecretFriends publishes nothing about its prices publicly, so my four-year-old reading is still the best source there is.

Small, and not as a figure of speech

Small. The first thing, and not a figure of speech: on most visits there is very little live, and the roster is thin enough that you will start recognising people quickly.

If you have found the mainstream token sites exhausting, with their tip menus, countdown goals and constant upsell interstitials, the absence of all of it here is genuinely restful. Rooms are quieter and the pressure is lower. Nobody is running a bot.

The interface is dated and the feature list is short. There is no cam2cam surcharge structure worth explaining, no VIP tier, no games. That is a webcam and a chat box, and nothing else.

Card or PayPal, and nothing else.

The per-minute figure this page will not print

What a private costs. Performers set their own rate here, nobody has counted the rooms, and until somebody does there is no per-minute figure on this page and there should not be one.

Whether free chat exists. The founding year, which SecretFriends does not publish and I did not record. And whether the ladder above is still what the checkout shows, four years on.

Worth it for the quiet, not worth chasing the discount

You have tried the big platforms, you did not like being sold to, and you are willing to pay the most expensive entry price in this dataset to get away from it. The trade here, stated as a price rather than as a mood: a dollar a credit, flat, for a quiet room.

Wrong site if you want a roster. With this few people online the odds that somebody you want to talk to is available on the night you look are poor, and that is not a criticism that goes away with a redesign.

Price-shopping settles it as well. at a dollar a credit with no volume discount, this is the most expensive entry point of any platform I have a ladder for. Chaturbate is a quarter of the price to start and Stripchat is the one platform here whose ladder I have read off its own logged-in checkout.

SecretFriends' package tiers are priced per credit on the package comparison page. Its per-minute rate is not verified yet, so here is what is still missing.
